Project Purpose

The City has an aging water distribution and sanitary sewer collection system that is at the end of its design life and needs replacement. The water distribution system was installed in 1955 with cast iron (CI) pipe water mains, and the sanitary sewer system was installed in 1960-1961 with vitrified clay pipe (VCP) sewer mains.

The water distribution system improvements consist of replacing existing watermain and installing new PVC pipe, gate valves, services and curb stops, in addition to some new hydrants.

Sanitary sewer collection system improvements include sewer relining with cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) and sewer main spot repairs.

Asphalt pavement and concrete curb, sidewalk, valley gutter, and driveway replacement will occur above some utility improvement locations.
