Program Overview

MnDOT's LRIP program supports counties, state-aid cities, and towns with up to $1.5M to cover construction costs on transportation projects with significant importance. Eligible projects include local road construction or reconstruction projects scheduled between 2024 and 2026 that are outside trunk highway right-of-way. No local match is required though non-state aid cities and townships require a county sponsor. Visit the MNDOT website for more general program information.

Program Distribution Goal

Counties, cities, and towns will compete against their peer communities for funding (i.e. county vs. county, city vs.city). MnDOT intends to award funds to at least one county, city, and town in each district.
